Super Shopper Success!
My man and I just booked our tickets to Honduras! Backpacking around Central America for 10 days with my sweetie sounds quite divine. Hostels, buses, beaches and beers! Only thing is, I haven’t traveled like this in years. What does one need to go backpacking? A BACKPACK!
We set out for REI on Friday afternoon to check out the options. The packer pro told us that the quarterly REI Used Gear Sale was the next morning and we should come back at 7AM!!!! No Wait! Doors open at 7AM, but people start lining up around 4AM, some even camp out on the sidewalk overnight!
Saturday morning at 5:30AM we rose in the darkness and got in line with over 100+ people. We cuddled on the sidewalk, sipped our coffees, chatted with fellow shoppers and watched the sun come up.
We made out like bandits! Two packs, two sleeping bags, two sleeping mats and various odds and ends for under $400. Score! Totally worth the crazy early morning on a Saturday.
