While hard at work one day last week, I received a text message that read:

“My love, what are you doing Saturday night? You and your man gotta come to this show! Amazing! Tickets at this link. It is not to be missed!”

Instantly intrigued I took a moment to tap into the following url:

www.vaudandthevillains.com

Ok, so now I NEED to get in on whatever it is these villains have going on! A 19 piece 1930′s New Orleans Orchestra and Cabaret Show? Yes Please! How fun is that :)

I proceeded to email my fabulous man with the link (along with three others…youtube videos included), so he could get just as excited as I was! Not only would this be our first live show together, but we both have a background in dance and performance arts, so this was pretty much a perfectly fabulous little package of fun. He quickly turned around with a YES and it was a date <3 We were taking our partner dancing skills from the living room to the streets!

Showtime arrived and you would have thought we were looking to reinvent Dirty Dancing New Orleans style! Dressed to impress and ready for action, we surrendered to ___ and the night was pure magic. While we had the pleasure of enjoying the experience with a group of fabulous, fun-loving friends, it was as though we were the only ones there and the dance floor was made for two! When it was all said and done we were high on life, shining from the inside out and drenched in sweat, begging for more.

I’m pretty sure it’s every girls dream to be swept off her feet, spun and dipped by a sexy man that can dance. That was this night for me. As much as it felt like we were in a movie, I only wish I had gotten it on film.

One of my favorite, most outrageous girlfriend’s set the stage for one of the most outrageous and extraordinary nights I have yet to share with my special man. A night of dancing like no one’s watching….one I will never forget, as it was indeed a first, but absolutely not a last.
